In Ash class we are hard-working individuals that persevere together to achieve our goals. Our learning is fun enjoyable but challenges us. We have lots of fun in class to discover the world around us, locally and gloablly and value opinions from everyone. We are also ourselves and we are one big team; we seek help from each other and use tools around the classroom.
Welcome back from half term, hope you had a lovely break and are well rested for the next 6 weeks until Easter.
Our topic for this term is 'Anicent Egyptians'. We will be looking at the first civilisations and researching about the ways of the world between 4500 BC – 332 BC in Egypt.
In DT we are looking at designing and making a Shaduf. We will be researching and finding out how and why the Egyptians made and used these. Our ultimate goal will be making and designing our own.
In English, we have just finished making our books, which will be on display in the office soon! We are looking at 'Tutankhamun’s Tomb' and the 'The Magic Box' this half term producing a Diary entry and a peotry booklet for you all to see when published.
In Maths, we will be looking at a range of mathematical processes and how they link over so the pupils can use their reasoning and inverses to help deepern their knowlegde.
In Music, we our lucky enough to have a music teacher come in on a wednesday to teach the pupils how to use and play different intruments. The children have throughly enjoyed this, thus far.
In PSHE, we are looking out how to treat the world and everyone around us.
In P.E we are doing rounders outside (even though it is very cold!) . While for indoor P.E we are doing gymnastic with Mrs Searle as she is a qualified gymnastic coach.
In RE, we will be looking at the Hindu festival of light ‘Diwali’ and why it is such a big occasion in many cultures.
In Science, we are looking at different types of animals and the things that make them all different from each other.
