Year 6 Pancake Race
On Shrove Tuesday we had quite a few celebrations!
We started off with an informative worship led by Mrs Osborn and Miss Rhodes. They taught us that during lent it is important to think about how we can make our school and our world a better place to live in. Some people were thinking of giving up something and others were going to make resolutions. Miss Rhodes has decided to make more time for her friends so she can build better friendships and Mrs Osborn has made a resolution to keep her room tidy.
After worship the whole school went outside and cheered on Year 6 as they raced each other to church whilst flipping pancakes. Year 5 helped us out by counting how many times we dropped the pancakes.
Everybody in the year group tried really hard and there were some puffed out children by the time they got to church. However, there was a surprise waiting for them because Dom and Alice had opened the church up and prepared hot chocolate and bought some biscuits for them to eat. Thank you Dom and Alice!
What a great afternoon we all had. I think it will be something that the Year 6 children remember for a long time!
