  • Santa Dash 2024 @ St Matthews - 13/12/24 UPDATE WITH MONEY RAISED

    The recent Santa Dash at St. Matthew's was a heartwarming and energetic event that brought the community together in the spirit of giving. The children of St. Matthew's truly shone as they ran numerous laps, showcasing their enthusiasm and dedication. UPDATE: The children raise £1653.50 for good causes.

    The proceeds from this fun run will be divided equally amongst three worthy causes. One-third will go to Save the Children, supporting their vital work in improving the lives of children worldwide. Another third will benefit King's Arms, a local charity dedicated to providing support and resources to those in need. The final portion will be allocated to St. Matthew's School, enhancing educational resources and opportunities for students.

    This event not only highlighted the children's incredible spirit and stamina but also demonstrated the power of community and collective effort in making a positive impact.   • Girls Football Matches @ Oakmoor 12/12/24

    17 enthusiastic girls from our school embarked on an exciting journey to Oakmoor for a series of football matches against Langrish Primary School. The atmosphere was electric as the girls, donned in their vibrant team jerseys, their spirits high and hearts full of anticipation.

    Upon arrival at Oakmoor, the girls were greeted by the lush green fields and the friendly faces of their opponents. The matches kicked off with a burst of energy, showcasing the incredible skills and teamwork of both teams. Each game was a testament to the hard work and dedication the girls had put into their training sessions.

    The highlight of the day was the camaraderie and sportsmanship displayed by all the players. Despite the competitive nature of the matches, there was a strong sense of mutual respect and encouragement. The girls from both schools cheered each other on, celebrated goals together, and shared moments of laughter and joy.

    As the final whistle blew, the girls gathered for a group photo, capturing the essence of the day – a blend of competition, friendship, and unforgettable memories.     St Matthew's Church, Blackmoor, will be holding their annual Christmas Workshop on Saturday 14th December from 10am until 12pm.  It is a drop-in activity with crafts, refreshments and a Christmas story. No charge but donations are invited.  This is a lovely event for children to start their Christmas celebrations.

    Oakmoor School was abuzz with excitement as children from various schools participated in a highly anticipated hockey tournament. The event was a fantastic display of youthful energy, skill, and sportsmanship.

    Our school's team, in particular, stood out for their exceptional teamwork and resilience. Throughout the tournament, they faced tough competition but remained united and focused. Their ability to work together and support each other was truly inspiring.

    The children attended a badminton tournament at Eggars School was a thrilling showcase of young talent and sportsmanship. Children from various schools gathered to compete, demonstrating impressive skills and determination on the court.

    Among the standout performances, one team from our school truly shone. Competing against three other formidable teams, they played with exceptional coordination and spirit. Their journey to victory was marked by intense matches, each player contributing significantly to the team's success.

    Parents, coaches, and spectators were all proud of the children's achievements. The tournament not only highlighted their athletic abilities but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship among the participants.

  • KS1 Racket Festival @ Perins 27/11/24

    Our KS1 students participated in the much-anticipated Racket Festival held at Eggar's School. Despite being indoors, the excitement and energy were palpable as eighteen enthusiastic children showcased their incredible skills and sportsmanship.

    The festival featured eight different stations, each designed to test and improve the children's racket skills in table tennis, badminton, and tennis.

    Throughout the event, the children displayed not only their athletic abilities but also their teamwork and support for one another.It was heartwarming to see the children celebrating each other's successes and learning from every game.

    A big thank you to all the  parents and volunteers who made this event possible. Your support and encouragement helped create a memorable experience for the children.
