The tournament had 12 teams split into two groups of 6, with every team playing each other. After the initial qualifying groups of matches were played (3 games per match), those finishing in the top three places in each group went into the GOLD group to contest for the medal places, with the next 3 best placed teams going into a SILVER group to play off for the Spirit of the Games trophy.

The children attended with their parents and a Parent Governor.  Our team consisted of two boys who played individual matches and two girls who played doubles.  They all played with determination and to the best of their ability.  Both boys were placed against opponents who represented England and courageously managed to win a few points off them.  In the first Round Robin session, St Matthew's came 5th out of 6 teams.  In the second half of the tournament, they came 4th out of 6, placing them 10th overall out of the top 12 teams in the county.  We are extremely proud of their performance and endurance during the day.  The children grew in confidence throughout the tournament, as you can see from the Round Robin matches played.  Well done to all four of our participants.
