Girls Football @ Eggars 10/2/26

Despite battling heavy rain and challenging conditions, the St Matthew’s girls displayed incredible determination and teamwork at the recent Girls’ Football Tournament hosted by Eggar’s. Representing the school with two squads—St Matthew’s Purple and St Matthew’s Yellow—the girls showed resilience, skill, and fantastic sportsmanship throughout the event.

One of the standout qualities of both teams was the way the players independently organised their own substitutions. They made sure everyone had a fair chance on the pitch, demonstrating maturity, cooperation, and a strong sense of team spirit.

The competition was tough, but both teams rose to the challenge. St Matthew’s Yellow finished an impressive 4th place out of eight teams, with St Matthew’s Purple close behind in 5th place. Their hard work, positive attitude, and commitment were evident in every match.

We are incredibly proud of all the girls for representing St Matthew’s with pride, respect, and enthusiasm. Well done to every player—you were a credit to the school! If you would like to see the photos click
