Girls Football @ Oakmoor 2/12/25

On a very wet and windy evening, two of St. Matthew’s girls’ football teams showed incredible determination and team spirit as they faced Langrish in challenging conditions.

St. Matthew’s Purple (Year 6) and St. Matthew’s Green (Year 4/5) took to the pitch despite heavy rain that lasted throughout both matches. The players demonstrated resilience and enthusiasm, refusing to let the weather dampen their efforts. Every pass, tackle, and shot was made with energy and commitment, proving that true sportsmanship shines even on the toughest days.

Both teams worked hard to support each other, showing great teamwork and perseverance. The Purple team displayed strong defensive skills and quick counterattacks, while the Green team impressed with their determination and growing confidence on the ball.

Although the rain made play difficult, the girls left the field with smiles, proud of their performance and the effort they put in. A big thank you to Langrish for the competitive matches and to all the supporters who braved the weather to cheer the teams on!

Well done, St. Matthew’s Purple and Green – you truly showed what it means to play with heart!
