  • Santa Dash 2025 - 19/12/25 - How Much Did We Raise?

    Published 05/01/26

The festive spirit was in full swing at St Matthew’s Primary as students, parents, and staff came together for the school’s much-loved annual Santa Dash. The event saw children running, jumping, and walking countless laps around the school track, all while dressed in cheerful holiday attire.

This year’s Santa Dash wasn’t just about fun and fitness—it was about giving back. Thanks to the incredible support from families and the wider school community, we successfully raised £1219.50 for charities and the school.Every contribution, big or small, helped make a difference, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who attended, participated, and donated. Your enthusiasm and generosity truly embody the spirit of the season. Together, we’ve shown that when our community comes together, amazing things happen!

  • St Matthew’s Takes Over Hogmoor Enclosure Junior Parkrun!

    Published 15/12/25

On Sunday, 14th December, St Matthew’s proudly took over the Hogmoor Enclosure Junior Parkrun, and what an incredible morning it was! Around 20–25 of our children laced up their trainers and tackled the 1.2-mile, two-lap course—with nearly half of them experiencing their very first parkrun.

The atmosphere was absolutely fantastic. From start to finish, the children showed amazing encouragement and team spirit, cheering each other on as they passed. It was inspiring to see so many smiles and hear words of support along the route.

Several of our young runners have already said they’d love to make parkrun part of their weekly routine, which is wonderful news. Events like these not only promote fitness but also build confidence and community—values we cherish at St Matthew’s.

If you didn’t attend this time, don’t worry! Junior Parkrun takes place every Sunday at Hogmoor Enclosure, and the main Parkrun runs every Saturday, so there are plenty of chances to join in and get active. Register at https://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/
