Sycamore Class lead a fantastic church service this morning to mark Ash Wednesday.

St. Matthew's Primary School recently attended an exciting netball event for our Year 3 and 4 students. The session was filled with various activities centred around netball, allowing the children to develop their skills and understanding of the game.
The event kicked off with a series of fun and engaging drills designed to improve passing, shooting, and teamwork. The students eagerly participated, showing great enthusiasm and determination. Coaches and teachers were on hand to provide guidance and encouragement, ensuring that everyone had a chance to shine.
Following the activities, the children had the opportunity to put their newly honed skills to the test in a series of friendly matches against other local schools. The matches were thrilling to watch, with each team demonstrating excellent teamwork and sportsmanship. The students supported one another, communicated effectively, and played with great spirit.

Our KS1 students recently dazzled us with their impressive gymnastics skills during a special showcase event. Twenty one enthusiastic children participated in a variety of bench activities and core skills exercises, demonstrating the techniques they have been diligently practising throughout the year.
The event was a fantastic opportunity for the students to display their agility, balance, and coordination. Each child showed remarkable progress and confidence, impressing both teachers and parents alike. From balancing on benches to executing precise movements, their hard work and dedication were evident in every performance.

St. Matthew's School recently showcased their exceptional badminton skills and teamwork by securing a spot amongst the top 14 teams in the county. Competing against over 500 schools, this achievement highlights their dedication, resilience, and sportsmanship.
Throughout the tournament, the students of St. Matthew's demonstrated remarkable coordination and perseverance. Their journey was filled with intense matches, but their unwavering spirit and support for each other propelled them to success.

On a brisk and muddy day, 16 enthusiastic children from Years 3, 4, 5, and 6 took part in the cross country race at Perins School. The event was a true testament to their incredible team spirit and unwavering support for one another.
Despite the challenging 2km (1.24 miles) course, which was made even trickier by the muddy terrain, each child demonstrated remarkable determination and grit. They not only completed the course but did so with smiles and cheers for their teammates. Their camaraderie was evident as they stayed to support and encourage other children in their races, creating an atmosphere of unity and positivity.
The event saw over 200 children participating across all the races, making it a grand celebration of young athletic talent. The young athletes' performance was impressive, showcasing their resilience and teamwork. Their collective effort and sportsmanship made the event a memorable experience for everyone involved. The recent girls' football tournament was a thrilling showcase of talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Amongst the standout participants were the two St Matthews teams, proudly donning their Purple and Green kits. Both teams demonstrated exceptional skill and coordination, earning them third place in their respective groups.

In a heart warming display of determination and camaraderie, five young athletes recently participated in a Sportshall Athletics event. Despite their small numbers, these children demonstrated exceptional teamwork and collaboration, making their presence felt in every event they competed in.
They took part in 6 events – Chest Push, Speed Bounce, Javelin, Standing Long Jump, Target Throw and finally, Rebound board Races.
Despite being a small team, these five children proved that numbers don't define success. Their unity, collaboration, and unwavering support for one another made them stand out. They left the event not just with memories of their performances, but with a deeper bond and a sense of accomplishment that comes from true teamwork.

16 enthusiastic young basketball players showcased their talent and teamwork at a local basketball tournament. The event was a fantastic opportunity for these budding athletes to demonstrate their skills and passion for the game.
The Year 3/4 team put up a commendable performance, finishing in 4th place. Their determination and sportsmanship were evident throughout the matches, earning them praise from coaches and spectators alike. The players showed great promise, and their teamwork was a highlight of their games.

Hollywater School recently hosted an inspiring boccia event that brought smiles and excitement to all participants. The event was a resounding success, thanks to the efforts of a remarkable children who not only excelled in the sport but also encouraged inclusivity by inviting children of all abilities to join in.
Boccia, a precision ball sport similar to bocce, was a new experience for many of the students. The child, whose enthusiasm and skill shone throughout the event, played a pivotal role in introducing this sport to their peers. Their leadership and encouragement ensured that every child, regardless of their background or ability, had the opportunity to participate and enjoy the game.
