Clearing up the churchyard and the war memorial
As it nearly 11th November and that is Remembrance Day, Alice asked us to go to the church and tidy up around the war memorial. It is a very important year this year as it is 100 years since the end of the First World War. We found many interesting things such as a bench dedicated to Tom Adlam who fought in both of the wars and was also the headteacher of St. Matthew's School. We are going to find out more about him. We also found lists of the men who died in both wars. There are two plaques which start, "Children remember the glory and sadness of war." We want to make sure we always remember what other people did for us.
