Rainbows 3rd July 2020

Today turned into a day all about smooth newts! We set out this morning to do a big bug hunt and ended up finding 4 newts! We were all EXTREMELY excited about it!

We used the Internet to find out more information about them (we weren't sure if they were newts or common lizards). We found that we could keep them in captivity for a while so we found out what we would need to set up the newts a home. We collected lots of soil, stones, leaves and bark and set about making them a home. We had an awesome day! We named our newts Nigel, Norman, Natty and Nancy!

They seemed to like their new home as they disappeared straight away! We can't see them any more!
