Ash Wednesday

On Wednesday Rev. Peter came into school and led our worship all about Ash Wednesday.

A few of the children and teachers had ash put on their hands in the shape of a cross. This reminds us all about being sorry and saying sorry to other people.

Rev. Peter talked to us about how we can give things up, but we can also use this time to think about others and not ourselves all the time. This can also be a time to forgive others and ask for forgiveness ourselves.

This is the prayer we have been saying this week:

Dear Lord,

Thank you that you forgive us completely. When people hurt us, please help us not to hold grudges and instead ask for your strength to forgive.

Amen
