5.11.20 Beech Class

Building a shelter

It was a cold and misty morning for Beech class this morning. They enjoyed making hot drinks to keep warm. We wrote in our journals at the start of the session and talked about the importance of detailed observations. Then we talked about how to create a successful shelter and practised  two different types of knot; the timber hitch and round turn and two half hitches. The children used these knots to put up a tarpaulin.
