Curriculum Overviews

The curriculum overview for each half term will be uploaded so you know what we will be learning in Apple Class. 

 

Spring 1

Amazing Animals!

This half term, Apple Class will be learning all about the amazing animals that we have on our planet. They will be exploring how animals use their senses to help them to survive. They will also look they life cycle of some animals , considering when they reach maturity. As part of their artwork, they will be creating observational drawings and paintings of favourite animals after exploring the work of Alex Artiste Peintre. In Geography, the children will be looking at how rivers change, exploring different rivers of the UK and their human and physical features. We have lots of other exciting learning happening this half term, so please look at our curriculum map which is attached below. 

Autumn 2

London's Burning!

This half term, Apple Class will be learning all about The Great Fire of London. Throughout this half term, we will explore why the fire started, why it spread so far and why it lasted for such a long time. We will also be looking at London and what makes it special. We will visit the Weald and Downland Museum to see first hand what the houses were like in 1666. Autumn 1

Once Upon A Time...in the Deep, Dark Woods!

Apple Class have an exciting half-term ahead of them, where we will be exploring a variety of fairy tales with a twist. We will be exploring the forests around our local area. We will then learn about what it means to have a healthy diet and create our own healthy meal for the big bad wolf.
